Potential Spam Caller ID

Potential Spam Caller ID

We've been seeing an increasing number of reports from franchise owners whose outbound calls are appearing as "Potential Spam" on recipient caller IDs. This is affecting their ability to connect with customers, so we've put together a formal policy to help resolve the issue.

If you work with franchise owners, please share the attached policy document with them.

Policy for Resolving "Potential Spam" Caller ID

This policy applies to any phone number owned by a franchise owner.

Steps for Resolution:

  1. Initial Submission to Free Caller Registry: Franchise Owners must first submit their business phone numbers to the Free Caller Registry: https://freecallerregistry.com/fcr/

See the guide provided below for the steps to submit their numbers.

  1. Escalation to Tech Support (After 2 Weeks): If the number still shows a "Potential Spam" label after 2 weeks from the submission date, the Franchise Owner can submit a helpdesk request to techsupport@fivestarfranchising.com. The request must include:

    • The date the numbers were submitted to the Free Caller Registry.

    • The exact phone numbers submitted.

    • The phone company that provided the numbers.

Tech Support Action: The Tech Support team will then work with a caller ID reputation management partner to try to resolve the issue.

Disclaimer:

Franchise owners should not be calling lead lists from their business phone numbers. This is risky, and they should find alternative marketing methods.

Submitting numbers to the Free Caller Registry

  1. Browse to https://freecallerregistry.com/fcr/

  2. Enter your business email address in the form that states “Verify your business email to get started”.

  3. Retrieve the verification code sent to your business email address and enter it into the website to complete the verification.

  5. Complete Step 2 of the registration form by adding all the business phone numbers. You can add up to 20 of them.

  6. Complete the final step of the registration process by agreeing to and accepting the terms and submitting the registration form.
